Ability to cancel long running queries

Hi,

It would be great to be able to cancel out of operations that are taking REALLY long periods of time. A simple example of something I would like to cancel out of is if I click "diff" on a large project. This typically takes several minutes to run and usually is more than I actually want. Right now, what happens is, the GUI locks up (stops painting, etc...) and I have no way of stopping what it is doing (short of bringing up task manager and killing the client, which is what I have been doing).
