Is it ok to use the 4.0 client with a 3.5.3 server?

Just curious if the 4.0 client would be compatible with a 3.5.3 server or would it cause any kind of problems?

It will connect and you can do some basic checkout and checkin. But get by label doesn't work correctly, and possibly some other things.

None of the server side bug fixes or features would be available. We don't recommend using an SOS 4.0 client with the SOS 3.5.x server. There's really no advantage to it, and it could cause problems.
