Vault Client Hang

Post by rtrugman » Thu Feb 11, 2016 2:07 pm

If for some reason I cannot connect to the Vault Server such as my vpn client is not up, then the Vault Client hangs and does not timeout. The process has to be killed.

If you make the timeout happen more quickly, you run the risk of having it timeout in the middle of large operations. If you don't have large operations, such as checking in hundreds of files at once, then you could change the entry for ServiceRequestTimeoutSeconds found in the registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SourceGear\Vault\Client\Settings.

The problem seems to be intermittent. Today when I tried it timed out but there seems to be times when the client hangs and never times out. Right now not sure how to reproduce the issue. I'll let you know if I see a pattern.

In the initial post, it sounded like it was tied to when you VPN disconnected. If that's not the case, then try the suggestions from this KB article: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic ... 13&t=22633.
