Hi,
We are planing to migrate our SOS server from Windows 2003 r2 to Windows 2008 R2. Please help me in understanding how to backup the SOS configuration and database and restore it on after the upgrade.
We are using SOS 4.5 and 5
Thanks a lot

Re: Need help in SOS configuration and database backup
Some of your configuration elements are going to change. For example, if you have your users using the secure port, then new keys need to be sent to the users after the server is set up.
The file that has your configuration information is sossvr.prp. That is found in the server directory, which is C:\Program Files (x86)\SourceGear\SourceOffSite 5 Server by default.
To move to a new server
1) Backup your VSS database
2) Move your VSS database to the new server.
3) Install SourceOffSite on the new server.
4) You can move over a copy of your sossvr.prp to the new installation.
5) Open up the SourceOffSite Server Manager to adjust any settings.
6) Start the SOS Service.

Re: Need help in SOS configuration and database backup
What version of VSS are you using?
Can you either post or look at your SOS Server log? That's found in the SOS directory where you installed the software and is called log.txt.
Have one of your clients try renaming their client-side cache. Instructions are in this KB article: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=1059.
