Vault UI ignores keep checked out setting from ctrl-K hotkey

Version 7.1.0 (32028) from within Visual Studio 2008

When doing a checking form within Visual Studio 2008

If I select the Keep Checked Out option from the keyboard via CTRL-K, the UI reflects that the choice is selected, but the actual files will not remain checked out after the check-in

If I select the Keep Checked Out option with the mouse, the process works as expected.

If it helps to debug the process at all: I get a beep when I push Ctrl-K (the button toggles with the beep)
The beep does not happen when the selection is toggled with the mouse.
