User Left Company

Post by daniel.defuso » Mon Apr 21, 2014 1:10 pm

If a user leaves the company and has not checked in their objects, can they be checked in? Or can we release the lock so that we can edit the files? I do not have the passwords for these users.

Thanks.

When a user leaves a company, you can release the locks they have on files through the Undo Check Out feature in the Vault Admin web page (http://your Vault server/vaultservice/admin). Once on the Admin web page, expand Source Control Repositories on the left, and then expand each repository. Under each repository is a link called Undo Check Out. Click that link. Select the check outs to undo, then scroll to the bottom and click Undo Check Out.

If you prefer to check the user's changes in, then you need to get access to that user's machine, login under their Windows account and then login into Vault with their account. You can change the password they had set through the Vault Admin web page under Users.

You will also want to make that person inactive at some point so that they cannot login to Vault. That is also performed in the Vault Admin web page under Users.
