Can't seem to isolate when or why but when launching the Vault Client, the MSI Installer launches when using the shortcut provided by the initial install.
I haven't seen this happen when launching the EXE directly...

by chance, have you moved the "SourceGear Vault" shortcut from your Start Menu?

Try creating new shortcut from the actual Vault GUI client exe (by default, at C:\Program Files\SourceGear\Vault Client\VaultGUIClient.exe)
We use a default Wise installer function to create the shortcut, it seems to do this for an installation every now and then...

its not the original posters bug, but is there any idea when the bug of it trying to reinstall if the program has been moved off the top level start menu-->programs will be fixed? This has been present for awhile and I was hoping that it would be fixed in the next release. While it isnt a critical bug run-wise, it's quite annoying as I like to keep all my dev stuff in one place.

This has been tricky to find out why this does this. I would recommend the same answer though - try to manually create a shortcut, and manually place it where you want, rather than copying or moving the one the installer creates.
