Looking to create a label that can not be modified

I am need of a feature that would act like a label, but that can not be renamed and can not use the promote feature. Pinning can easily be unpinned. Snapshots can be unpinned and modified. I want to communicate to another group to go to Fortress and get ..... but I want to know that once this thing is created that no one can go in and modify it in any way.

There currently isn't a way to make a label that can't be modified at all.

If some users only need to perform a Get, you could set their permissions to be read-only so that they can't make changes, but could perform Gets.

You could create a branch of the code and make access to that branch be read only. This would require folder security to be turned on.

Another thought -- if you note the version in Folder History by version, that version can never be changed, and you can always GET that folder version.

Right click on the folder and select Show History. In the History Query dialog, select View folder history by version. This will give you a list of versions with their dates. Select the version that corresponds to the date you want. Various options, such as GET Tree, View, Label, etc., will be available on the right of the History Explorer dialog.
