I would like to do an evaluation of Vault Professional for migrating our SourceSafe database.
I started off by doing a handoff of a small part of our existing SourceSafe database into Vault Professional, this small part consists of 7 projects and about 1000 files with shares and pins. I keep getting many error message like the following
Exception creating share for $/Folder/Subfolder/File.H: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
This keeps going for all files in one of the projects and the final message is
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
The repository then contains the project folders and 10 files.
The SourceSafe database has been verified, I even archived it and restored it, I have tried different versions of SourceSafe, but I don't know what else to try.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks
J
Handoff, Exception creating share, Object reference null
Re: Handoff, Exception creating share, Object reference null
We'd like to see a copy of the Vault Server log that covers the time of the Handoff. It's called sgvault.log and is in %windir%\temp\sgvault on the server machine.
