Yesterday I made a post in this thread in regards to the fact that, like the thread starter, the vault integration was making the VS2010 UI very slow.
I subsequently enabled logging and discovered that it was the toolbar that was causing the slowdown. For almost any action taken within VS2010, the toolbar is checking whether each button should be available and enabled and this process takes several seconds.
Once I removed the toolbar, performance is great.
Enhanced Source Control Toolbar makes VS2010 UI slow

Re: Enhanced Source Control Toolbar makes VS2010 UI slow
Thanks for posting. Yes, this slowdown when the toolbar is enabled is a known issue and we have a bug 15512 logged for this.
I have tried to reproduce this here at SourceGear with a large project, but have not seen a difference in performance, with or without the toolbar enabled in VS 2010. So it's possible there are other settings that affect this as well.
