Mix versions of SOS

Post by rschummer » Sat Dec 26, 2009 9:44 pm

We are running v4.2 of the server and clients for SourceOffSite. We have some new people coming on. Can they use the new version with our 4.2 server or do we have to upgrade our server and client machines to use the newer version? If not, is there a downgrade path for the new people?

A SourceOffSite 5.0 client cannot connect to a SourceOffSite 4.2 server.

In the reverse direction, a SourceOffSite 4.2 client cannot connect to a SourceOffSite 5.0 server unless it's a non-Windows client.

That is what I was expecting and thanks for confirming.

Sorry, I need to change my answer here. I just confirmed that an SOS 4.2 client can connect to an SOS 5.0 server. There are some features that you might not receive though by using the SOS 4.2 client.

Please note also that you would still need SOS 5.0 license keys.
