Mac OS 10.5.8: unable to set Working Dir?!?

Post by reichd » Wed Sep 23, 2009 1:08 pm

Our Mac Pro has been working just fine with SOS 4.2 client connecting to the WinXP SOS server running in a Parallels Virtual Machine (vm) that connects to our Windows file server where the Visual SourceSafe database files are until now.

The set Working Directory button on the toolbar doesn't work? When pressed, the program just hangs with no messages.

I'd suspect the operating system upgrade broke the SDK call to the file/directory browser?

X Windows reports XQuartz 2.1.6.
The machine is current with Apple Updates [we have not upgraded to 10.6]. It is OS X 10.5.8 Server.

Any ideas what we can do to fix this? We're stuck with the last entered working dir.

Mystery solved! I FUS (Fast User Switched) back over to my admin account and Apple Updates was jumping up and down demanding that I install the latest iTunes. I Quit Apple Updates, switched back to the other user and now it works!

So the bug is with Apple Updates and Fast User Switching not SOS. :D
