VS2005 Adding new project to vault

SourceGear Vault version 4 (4.0.6 - 15954)

I have added a new Web Application to an existing project and would now like to add it to Vault. However the menu item "Add to Vault" is disabled (as are all the Vault menu items) when I select the new project. I can't work out why. I have searched this board using "add disabled", "add menu option disabled" and "add to vault" but no-one else seems to have found this problem. I don't think I have seen it before either and I have added lots of projects and solutions to Vault.

I just tried creating another Web Application in the same project with the same result, and then a class library, also with the same result. Restarting VS doesn't change anything.

Vault menu items are visible and seem to work correctly on the other projects in the solution. The Vault client also works fine - change sets are appearing and can be committed.

What else should I check?
