Failure Upgrading 3.1.8 to 4.1.4 - Error -1280

Post by jbane » Sun Jan 18, 2009 2:22 pm

I am trying to upgrade from vault 3.1.8 server to 4.1.4.18402

The message is "Vault Setup is exiting due to a failure or cancellation. Error Code = -1280" The last entry on the progress form is "The object was renamed to 'tblrepositoryaccess'."

After exiting the dialog, it appears to roll back the installation.

I have attached the installation log that I found.

I've tried this multiple times, deleting the sgmaster and restoring sgvault with the same results.

Since you are several versions out of date, we'd sugget upgrading in stages. Restore a backup of your sgvault database, then upgrade to 3.1.9. If that's successful, backup that database, then upgrade to 3.5.3, then 4.1.4. Some users have been able to directly upgrade from 3.1.9; others have had to go from 3.1.9 to 3.5.3, to 4.0 to 4.1.4. It depends on the state of your database.

You can download earlier installers here:
