Make Writable Options?

Post by maysam » Thu Oct 16, 2008 4:24 am

I'm sorry I just don't know what the difference is between these three options:

make binary files read-only
make all files read-only
make all files writable

Can anybody tell me please?
Thanks

These are what the settings will be for the files that are in your working folder. If you are working in VSS mode, when a file is set to read-only, it is not checked out. A check out removes that setting so it can be edited. Since binary files are not mergeable, some prefer to only place the restriction on those types of files. If you manually change the read-only flag on disk instead of through Fortress, you could have files with a renegade status.
