Hi,
We need to branch our software every few months so that we can start development on our next revision of code - whilst still allowing maintenance/bug fix on the previous iteration. (via service packs)
The branched version needs to maintain all the history and labels of the previous version.
When we tried to branch, it successfully did the branch however no history or labels were maintained.
The only way we found to maintain all this information was to do an Export and Import operation. This however took our Vault system offline for about 5 hours which when we have deadlines on other projects causes us great problems.
Is there a way to do the branch which maintains history, or is the export/import the only way to do it?
Please advise,
Pete

A branched folder does not maintain history -- but the files will have history prior to the branch. So if you need the folder history you may need to continue exporting and importing.
