SOS timeout on bootup

Hi,

SOS failed on system startup - I have installed SQL Server2008 recently - maybe it is hogging services. Here is the event...

A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the SourceOffSite 4 Server service to connect.

I hadn't seen this event before with SOS. Could you look in your SOS log to see if any more is mentioned there?

What if you stop the SQL services and then try to start the SOS service? Does it work then?

One other thing to check. There is a 'Time Out Idle Connections' in the SOS Server Manager that could be turned on.
