Reset client connection settings after moving Vault Server

Post by JohannesF » Wed Aug 06, 2008 9:44 am

After we moved Vault Server to a new location, every time I open a VS Solution it first attempts to connect to the old location that does not exist anymore. The only way I know of fixing this issue is by removing the bindings and resetting them to the new location in the Change source control window. This sometimes takes forever since it first needs to time out trying to connect to the old location before asking me the login details of the new server link.

Is there any better way to update the default login for all my solutions?

Versions:
Server: 4.1.0.16216
Client: 4.1.0 (16216)

Since the server has changed, your projects will all need to be unbound and rebound to the new server.

However this might be a little faster if you first open the project, then cancel out of any connection dialog. Then, depending on which integration client you are using, you can change bindings Under File> Source Control->Change Source Control, or File->Vault Source Control->Change Vault Bindings.

You might also be a use this tool if you have a great number of projects:

Even though it's specifically for unbinding from classic then rebinding to enhanced, I think you can unbind and rebind from enhanced to enhanced integration.
