A question on history items transferred to a branch

Post by talamar » Wed Jun 11, 2008 6:39 am

This is the case of making a branch.
Let's assume, that trunk folder has been labeled a couple of times and carries, for instance, the labels: "1.0" and "1.1".

At a later moment, I make a branch to make some changes specific to version 1.0. I do it by selecting trunk folder history item "Labeled 1.0", right-click on it, and selecting "Branch ...". So, I started a branch from version 1.0. Ok.

Now I check the history of any file in branch. Surprisingly, the history of all branched files contains item "Labeled 1.1".
Why? Is it correct?
I believe that the items of trunk history which follow the item from which a branch was made, should not appear in history of files in branch.
In my example, files in branch should not have item "Labeled 1.1" in their history.
A bug?

I tried this out a few times and I think you found one. I'll get this logged right away. Thanks for the report.
