I have downloaded trials 4.0.2 (both server & client)
When I connect through the Internet I wait about 15-20 sec. befire login window appears. All further operations (add, get, check in, check out) are fast.
Then, I opened telnet and typed
open xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx yyyy
and get the same period before status 200 appears.
in log.txt I see an error
Unable to get hostname from address nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
where nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn - is client IP which is dinamic one.
What should I setup in my network to make conection faster?
The same computer executes a number of web servers working pretty fast.
Thanks a lot in advance.
very slow connection to server

The log file error really isn't a problem -- SOS is just trying to get the hostname from the IP address, and it can't, so it reports it. I don't know that this would cause a significant slowdown.
If you experience the same delay when you telnet to the SOS Server and when you connect to the SOS Server with the client, there may be something on the network slowing things down. You could try running a traceroute to see how many hops it is taking to get to your server machine.
It looks like once you are connected to SOS all is ok??
Any other information in the log that might help us diagnose the slow initial connection?
