Error When Checking In

Greetings,

Started having the following error when checking in files. This is version 10.0.1, and has started happening for all my projects (single user). When I check in, it actually does the check in just fine, it presents the error screen with just the message:

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I know, it doesn't really tell you much. Where can I start looking to figure out where this error is coming from? It doesn't seem to be any real issue, as the files that I check in are getting checked in and I've got the version history for them just fine, it is more of an annoyance than anything.

Any assistance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

I would start by looking at the Vault Server log which can be found on the Vault Server machine:

%windir%\temp\sgvault\sgvault.log

If you notice any errors, please post them here and I can assist you with a solution.

I went ahead and deleted the log file and did the following:

- Open up VS2017 with project that is under source control
- Checked out a file, made a change
- Checked in the file

This is the full log file from that activity. Any assistance you can give would be appreciated. Nothing has changed on the server in ages. Also, this is occurring when coming into the server from the outside as well as inside (as you see below).

Did want to also mention, this behavior is the same if I'm using the VS integration, or doing the check out/check in process from the Vault client on my workstation.

can you provide me the specific location for the log that you'd like to see? Also, I just updated to 10.0.2 and I'm still getting the same.
