Remove computer name as dependency

Post by RaschkeR » Thu Nov 24, 2016 2:30 pm

Hi everyone,

we would like to use the Vault client in a pooled VDI environment.
Is it possible to remove the dependency of the computer (machine) name for check in/check out?

All users will be assigned random pooled VMs and the chance, that they will accidentially hit the same VM twice in a row is likely zero...

As the working directory for Vault will be on personal mapped network shares, all users have always their own working dir with all checked out contents "with them". there is no need for the computer name dependency in this scenario.

Any hints for me?

kind regards
Robert

I have something that might help for customers with maintenance on Vault 9.1. Send an email to support at sourcegear.com (attn: Beth) with a link to this forum thread, and I'll provide details directly.

As an additional update for others who may be reading this, another way of dealing with this is to use CVS mode. That setting is in Tools - Options - Concurrent Development Style. That removes the check out requirement and makes all files writable.
