Run Vault on two workstations. Check out a file on one of them, then search on the other station for files checked out. No result is returned. You must first refresh the Vault display by clicking on the tree or contents and hitting F5. Then refresh the search and you'll see the changes. Undo the checkout and you'll get similar behavior.
It seems to me that refreshing the file search ought to refresh the file search.
