unpinned files
What does status "unpinned" mean and do I need to perform any action?
I am using Vault Client 8.0.1 299
In Vault, when I perform a search, there is an option for "Any Status" and "unpinned".
When I search on "Any Status" for my repository, I don't see any files.
But when I choose "unpinned" I see a lot of files.
Is my source code safe? Is there something I need to do?
Thanks

Re: unpinned files
To understand what Unpinned means you'll want to know what is a Pinned file. Details on Pinned files can be found here: http://download.sourcegear.com/Vault/9. ... l#pinfiles. Unpinned file are files that were previously pinned and had the unpin action performed on them, which only removes the pin.

Beth:
I made a mistake and in Vault I deleted all the pinned files.
Is there a way to get them back using the admin tool?
I see the files in Vault Admin under Obliterate.
How can I restore them?

Re: unpinned files
In the Vault client, right-click the parent folder of the files you deleted and click Properties. In there is a Deleted Items tab. In that tab, you can restore deleted items.

Re: unpinned files
Now that I think of it, we don't have Unpin as an item to search on in Vault 9.1.0, only Not Pinned. Unpin only shows as an action in History, and that's not a status, but the application of the UnPin action.

Re: unpinned files
Ok i'm back to where I was.
How do I resolve all of these files in the "unPinned Files" section of search?

Re: unpinned files
I am unsure what you mean. Could you post a screenshot? You can black out the actual file names.

Re: unpinned files
Since you are on Vault 8, what you are getting in your search are files that are just not pinned.
There is nothing you need to do. There is nothing that needs to be "cleared."

Re: unpinned files
I'm sorry I was out all afternoon on meetings.
OK If there is nothing to do, but what does "unpinned Files" mean?
I'm not sure how these files got "unpinned" in the first place?
Also, why is "unpinned" NOT included in the "Any Status" search?
THanks for all your help.

Re: unpinned files
Unpinned isn't a status. In the context of Vault 8, it means the files are just not pinned. If you pin a file, then that will not show up in the search.
In Vault 9, we changed the working in the search to Not Pinned to make it clearer.
