Here's where you can start to learn about it. After reviewing the articles, feel free to ask any additional questions you may have.

Best Practices for setting up repositories: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?p=5183
Best Practices for Managing Branches: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=193
Basics of using Label, Cloak, Share, Pin, Branch and Merging: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=9
These next two links are just to provide you with some good general areas to find useful information.

Another thing you should know about is using labels. Labels can really help keep branching/merging from being hard to handle, plus they're very lightweight.
The next important thing after labeling and branching/merging is shelving. It's a way to have the code saved on the server, and accessible to others, without actually having to check it in.
