How did you install DiffMerge?
If you used the pkg installer, it would have created a DiffMerge shell script in your /usr/bin/. This is used to launch DiffMerge from the command line.
If you used the dmg, look in the 'Extras' folder within there for a shell script and you can edit/install to your system to launch DiffMerge. This has a few extra options compared to the shell script you provided.

I installed via Homebrew Cask.Beth wrote:How did you install DiffMerge?

I will try and see if Homebrew Cask can use that script instead. I have an issue at their GitHub repository.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you out with a third-party installer. We've never tested any of them and can't support them.
