I use BeyondCompare (but I guess the problem is the same with other diff programs). The problem is that the labels starts with the insignificant information:
Example: Repository Version ($/_Vip6/ProDir/pfc/ppStream/ppStreamSupport/ppScope_byNeed.pro).
BeyondCompare uses the left label for tab titles and for program labels. And as you can see in the attached images this makes them rather useless.
It would be so much better if the most significant part was first:
Example: ppScope_byNeed.pro (Repository Version $/_Vip6/ProDir/pfc/ppStream/ppStreamSupport/).
Diff labels: %LEFT_LABEL% and %RIGHT_LABEL%
