Move Vault to new SQL Server and Upgrade

Hi,

We are running Vault 6.0.0 (477) right now and will be decommissioning the SQL Server it resides on. We want to move the DB to a new SQL server and upgrade to the latest Vault (I think it is .

Can you tell us what the best way to do this in? Should we just move the DB across and then upgrade or is there an export/import? Should we check everything in first?

The short answer is backup databases, restore to new server, install the next version up of Vault, and then the last version of Vault.

Thank you for the reply. Could you clarify:

Do you mean latest version?

Sorry for the confusion. Since you are on Vault 6.0, after you move the database to the new SQL Server, you will install Vault 7.2.1 and then 8.0.1.
