Visual Studio 2008 Issue with Vault
I leave my machine on and VS2008 open when I leave work.
When I come back in the next day, my connection to Vault is lost.
Some days I remember to refresh the status and others I don't so I am working disconnected.
Is there any way to keep the connection open or be notified that my Vault connection is lost?
Thanks
BTD
PS I am on Vault 7.1

The first thing to check is the Vault server log. Can you post either the log or the errors here? Or you can feel free to email the log to support at sourcegear.com.

I can't without requesting it from Tech Support, which is a pain.
I was looking for a Visual Studio 2008 Vault switch I can turn on/off. This switch would alert me that my Vault access is dead.

If you were to right-click and check out a file, don't you get a warning at that time? Or is it a case where you already have the file checked out and open, and are just resuming your editing, and don't realize you aren't connected to Vault server any longer?

Re: Visual Studio 2008 Issue with Vault
I have the file opened in the VS2008 editor. When I type in, it doesn't prompt me to login to Vault.
It accepts my changes but I'm disconnected.

Re: Visual Studio 2008 Issue with Vault
If it's already checked out, then it doesn't have a reason to contact Vault. If it isn't checked out, but has the lock next to it showing it's bound, then it will try to contact Vault. If you're working in CVS mode, then an edit doesn't cause VS to try and connect to Vault. Does your file state match any of these scenarios?
Before you try editing the first time in a day, can you go to File - Vault Source Control - Change Bindings, then look at the bottom of the window and tell me if the Online check box is checked?

OK thanks.
Can you add a feature to automatically check and then auto connect?
