Standard vs Professional

Standard vs Professional
Hello -
We just recently purchased Vault 7.1 and need to plan the upgrade. In looking at your site, you recommend we download and install past versions to incrementally upgrade. Our current version is 5.0.1.18729.
I have a couple of questions.
1 - How do I know if we have Standard vs Professional to know which downloads to use?
2 - On average how long does it take to apply each incremental upgrade? I need to determine the best time to do the upgrade but have no idea how long it should take.
Thanks.

Go to http://<your Vault server>/vaultservice/index.html and that page will tell you exactly what you have.

The time depends on too many factors to estimate well. A "best guess" that I use is the same time as the backup of the database.

Re: Standard vs Professional
I checked this page, http://<your Vault server>/vaultservice/index.html, as suggested and it says nothing about Standard or Professional on it. I assume this means we have Standard.
Re: Standard vs Professional
If it doesn't say Professional, then you have Standard.

One more question.
In looking at the license key document, we apparently purchased 7.1 Professional, 3 upgrade licenses and 1 new license.
What issues will we have upgrading from 5.01 Vault Standard to 7.1 Professional and what path do we have to take?
If it matters the licenses were purchased from Component Source.
Thanks.

Re: Standard vs Professional
We have an Upgrading Guide that will take you through all the details to consider and what to do.
Let me know if you have any questions about the information in that guide.

Thanks, again.
Re: Standard vs Professional
I am sorry, I have yet one more question related to our upgrade plans.
Our current Vault Server is Server 2003 R2. .NET 4.5 is not supported on this server based on Microsoft's site.
In order to upgrade to 7.1 does the server absolutely have be at framework 4.5 and IIS 7?
We have a new server to be setup that will meet all of the technical requirements but it won't be available until mid to late October at the earliest.
We recently upgraded our dev tools to VS 2013 and found that access to the 'advanced' Vault 5.x client is not available. I hate to think we have to limp through until we get the new server in place.
Can we update the Vault db to 7.x and our local clients but then deal with the server side UI after migrating to the new server?
If not, is there a way to access to the 'advanced' 5.x client in VS 2013?
Thanks.

Yes. You will want to check our Compatibility Chart that lists what is supported with each version.
To stay with Windows 2003 server until the new machine is ready, you could upgrade to Vault 6.1.0, but that won't get you support for VS 2013.
If you upgraded to VS 2013, did you reinstall your Vault client? There are registry keys that need to be set for the integration. I'm not sure it would work, because we didn't test Vault 5.x with VS 2013, but if you wanted to try it anyway, that's the place to start.
