DiffMerge on the Mac, and UTF-8 problem

Post by rovf » Wed Jun 25, 2014 6:19 am

I'm currently running DiffMerge 3.3 on Mac OSX 10.4 (Tiger).

I found today that DiffMerge does not show correctly UTF-8 encoded files (for example, Japanese text). I tried to find some setting, where I could explicitly set the encoding to UTF-8, but to no avail.

Is there a newer version of DiffMerge, which would support UTF-8, *and* also runs on OSX 10.4?

The system requirements of the newer versions say, that at least OSX 10.6 would be needed, BUT the requirements for my current version, 3.3, also claim that it would need OSX 10.6, but it still runs happily on 10.4.

Try out the suggestions made in the last post of this forum thread: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic ... 33&t=21202. Had you tried Unicode?
