Editing a file makes it Renegade

Post by ptansey » Mon Sep 09, 2013 12:40 pm

I've recently upgraded to VS 2012 using Vault Standard 6.1.0.531 (from 5.x). I have rebound my source to the new Vault and most Vault behavior in VS seems fine, except pretty much every file I modify becomes Renegade.

In Tools|Options|Source Control the "current source control plug-in" is "SourceGear Vault Standard Visual Studio Enhanced Client".

I'm on a Windows 7 64-bit system. My old vault 5.x client worked perfectly.

Are your files read-only on disk? If they are not set to read-only, then an automatic check out cannot happen.

Wow, it was that simple. I removed read-only during the upgrade to VS 2012 assuming the Vault would set accordingly.
My files are now checking out properly when I edit them.
Thank you so much, Beth. Unbelievably fast turn around on this!
