I am getting the following error message when I try to conenct to certain repositories within the vault client nad VS 2010:
"The Vault server could not be contacted to perform the operation. Your network connection to the server may have been interrupted. Please verify your network settings using the Options dialog under the Tools menu in the Vault GUI Client. The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.Unable to write data to the transport connection: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine. An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine"
I had a problem with a corrupted checkin a few days back and read a post that said to do some things with my cache folder. I went in and made a copy of the repository's folder under USER\AppData\Local\SourceGear\Vault_1\Client and I haven't been able to connect to the repository since. I have uninstalled/reinstalled. The server log doesn't log anything about my error but does log my logins. I tried unbinding/rebinding from VS, but not luck.
I am able to connect to some repositories and not others.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Gene

Re: Error message whenchoosing a repository
Do you have a Vault GUI client installed? If so, close Visual Studio and try connecting from Vault.
If you can't connect to some repositories using the Vault GUI client, then go to Tools - Options - Local Files - Vault Cache and make a note of what you have set for your Vault cache location.

Re: Error message whenchoosing a repository
Yes, I have the client installed, but get the same error when selecting certain repositories.
The caches location is set to In User Local Settings Folder. I can't save the custom folder because it is pointed to my local settings folder.

Re: Error message whenchoosing a repository
Just an update to this post. The user and I discussed the issue offline. Uninstalling the client, deleting the cache, and removing HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SourceGear\VaultPro\Client\Settings from the registry, then reinstalling the client appears to have fixed the issue.
