We are currently in the process of "finally" moving off SourceSafe to a different Source Control. So far we like Sourcegear Vault the best. We really liked the feature of web deploy that Source Safe had, since it really worked well for our small team environment. Sourcegear offers a similar feature with Shadow Folders. I have set everything up, imported our VSS data and everything was going smoothly until I tried to link a shadow folder to a remote site that is not located on our domain. Since the Sourcegear Shadow folder is using the impersonate identity feature, we can only do either or and not both (one for our local domain or one for the remote machine not on the domain).
My question is, do you have any suggestions for a situation like this?
Shadow Folders both internal and remote
Re: Shadow Folders both internal and remote
Try our Deploy Wizard Power Toy found here: http://www.sourcegear.com/vault/powertoys.html. That should help you FTP changes to your remote site from Vault.
Another option would be to create a trust between the two domains and have the login that Vault runs under have the ability to login to both domains.

Great! Didn't know about the deploy wizard. This looks like it will take care of our 2 servers hanging out in the DMZ. We have talked about extending our Domain out to the DMZ or creating a two domain trust, but we really like to keep it locked down like we have it. Thanks for the link and info!
