Vault transactions take forever when run from ANT

The ANT tasks <vaultcheckin> and <vaultcheckout> are taking an average of 10 minutes each to execute. Can anyone please indicate what the problem might be?

What happens if you perform the same actions with the Vault GUI client?

Are multiple projects being built at the same time with Ant?
