Hello,
I use Vault since several months and I am disappointed about the problems when trying to use it with applications other than MS Visual Studio.

many of my older projects are ASP Web projects which I control with Macromedia Homesite - unfortunately Vault does not work with Homesite.

Another example - I use Embarcadero Sql tools and I cannot work with Vault again as Vault is recognized as provider but the integration does not work correctly - some files are shown as checked out, others as not being a part of the project etc. etc.

I don't have all these problems when using Perforce - so where is the difference between these scc providers - I thought that this was a standardized way to communicate with different applications ?

I wish we had a better answer for you - we just are not able to support all the IDEs we would like right now. We support Visual Studio through the MSSCCI interface, but that interface is very cumbersome, and different implementations in different IDEs cause all sorts of problems. There are also complications with the fact that we run managed code, and almost all IDEs are unmanaged apps.

In any case, we apologize for your inconvenience and hope to support more IDEs in the future.
