New branch: Rollback failing

Post by jsaskey » Mon Jun 04, 2012 5:41 pm

Vault Client & Server version = [5.1.1.19215]

We have a newly branched folder with a *.csproj file. In the folder which was created as part of the branching operation, I am trying to roll back the *.csproj file from version 18 to version 16.

The client reports this error: "Item ... caused the transaction to fail: Invalid object version specified"

Here is part of the server log which reflects the error on the Vault server:

----6/4/2012 4:28:30 PM ... (14d8c243-0f7f-49b4-aff7-026e9f3f6048) BeginTx returned: FailDBInvalidObjIDVersion
----6/4/2012 4:28:30 PM ... (14d8c243-0f7f-49b4-aff7-026e9f3f6048) Rollback: $/Products/DeliveryTrack/4.0/Architecture/WinForms/UIHelpers_v10/UIHelpers.csproj returned: FailDBInvalidObjIDVersion

I have cleard my client cache and rebooted the Vault server - neither of which have resolved the situation.

Does anyone else know a fix for this situation? We see the problem on multiple desktop clients, not just my machine...

I don't believe it's possible to use rollback when the item is a branch that doesn't own it's own history. What you could do is delete the current version, return to the original location and branch version 16 from there to your current branch location.
