Authentication

Post by scaiferw » Tue May 22, 2012 7:56 am

Hi;

A couple of questions regarding authentication;

1. Does Vault support or intend to support true Kerberos or NTLM single-signon, using a user's existing logon credentials, rather than forcing them to re-enter their Windows userid and password? The URL http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic ... non#p30994 refers to feature request 11228 from 2008 to add this support.

2. When the user chooses to save their credentials in the Vault client, what cryptographic process is used to protect that information.
Vault Standard Version 5.1.1.19215 -- Windows Server 2008 R2 -- SQL Server 2008 R2

1) The feature request is still currently open. I don't know the timeline on that particular feature, but I can add your vote to it.

2) When a user profile is created, the data is saved in the Vault cache under vault_1/client/profiles.

EDIT: My mistake. The password is encrypted. It's encrypted with triple DES encryption.
