Unshelve is prompting for non-working copy location

Post by ajj3085 » Sat Mar 10, 2012 10:21 am

I have a problem with unshelving a change set that contains newly added file. Vault keeps prompting me for a location to use for non-working copy use. It should just be putting the files in the location to which they were added. There was no conflict with an unversioned file as I even tried deleting the WC, getting latest and then immediately unshelving.

To make matters worse, I don't even know WHAT files these are. The dialog is not resizable, and it puts the full path in the title of the dialog box, which means the actual file name is cut off.

I wasn't able to reproduce this, but we've had other users report that unshelve was putting new files in a temp directory. This can happen if the folder structure is different on the unshelver's machine, or if the specific working folder doesn't exist. Is this the case here?

We have feature request logged to unshelve into the user's working folder. I've added your vote.

As far as I can tell, the unshelve dialogs are are re-sizeable, though the file path might be so long the file name still can't be read. Could you post a screenshot of the dialog you'd want to resize?

No to both. The folder structure is identical, and the working folder does exist.

I still haven't been able to reproduce the prompt for a non-working folder location.

I'd suggest we schedule a remote assist session where I can take a closer look. Email support at sourcegear.com, Attn: Linda. Please include a link to this forum post.

Ok, but it may be a while. I do my consulting work on top of my full time employment so I'm usually working with Vault nights / weekends.
