Out of the blue--can't connect

Post by rogermon » Sun Mar 11, 2012 6:45 am

Hi Gang,

This is a minor crisis. :( I tried to open Vault client this morning, and was greeted with the following:

Login Failed: The server could not establish a connection to the database. Please check the server's log for detailed information. (FailDBConn)

I tried logging into the server, and got a similar message. When I tried to look at the log file, I get an access is denied message (I am the administrator), I suspect this is another case of Windows 7 "protecting" me.

I'll appreciate all help.

Roger

Hi Linda,

I woulda liked to look at the log too. But Win7 was "protecting me" from doing that. Yesterday, I finally got some time, and determined to work out this issue. Another MS dribbleware update happened the previous night. I thought I'd try vault again, to examine the error message, and what to my surprise, it's working! It has been working since. So, now I'm happy developing, again. :D

Thanks for your reply, Linda.

Glad things resolved themselves. Yes, Windows updates can cause problems for Vault, depending on what was updated.
