How to roll back to a label/date?

Re: How to roll back to a label/date?
We could really use this capability as well. We just recently checked in a changeset that we now need to back out. This change set included adding new files and deleting some old ones.
Is there any way with the current version of Fortress to rollback a change set?

There isn't a specific folder rollback function, but we do have a workaround:

Please add my vote to this feature as well. This is getting ridiculous.
Re: How to roll back to a label/date?
Just as a reminder for those who run across this thread, there is a work-around posted here, http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic ... 13&t=12594. This won't negate the feature request at all. It will just provide you a way to deal with this in the meantime.

Please add my vote too. (I appreciate having the workaround, but it's too clunky.)

Add another vote for this feature.
How does the suggested workaround work if file names have been changed in Vault? We have changed the name of some of the files and now want to rollback to a label - prior to the name changes. So what happens when I use the workaround and check-in files with the old names? The new file name will not be overwritten - or removed. The old file name will appear as a Version 1 file, correct?
Is there a "behind-the-scenes" technique to solve our problem? Maybe by hacking the SQL database?
I think this is a giant hole in the Vault product.
Thanks for your consideration.

Re: How to roll back to a label/date?
The workaround doesn't know that you've changed file names. Some other options you have is to roll back individual files. You could get them back to the previous name that way.
There currently is no SQL code for rolling back an entire folder or label, and trying to change the databases directly can cause problems.
I will add your vote to the feature request.

Re: How to roll back to a label/date?
We have also desperately needed a way to roll-back a whole change set in one easy method. When you have changes spread amongst many folders all belonging to one item (we are using Vault Pro) the manual work-around is a dreadful way to have to do it. Please Please fix the ASAP it really is a major hole in your product.

I've added your vote to that feature. Thank you for your feedback.

Re: How to roll back to a label/date?
I just got bitten by this issue. Add another user that could use a revert to label option on a directory and all its children. Thanks

Re: How to roll back to a label/date?
This is really a very important feature. Please?
Re: How to roll back to a label/date?
This is a complex feature to implement. It's not just rolling back to earlier versions of files.
Files that have been renamed would need to be reverted back to their old names, shares might need to be unshared, deleted items would need to be undeleted, pins would be re-pinned or unpinned, etc.
However, we know this is a feature many users have asked for, and we are tentatively scheduling this for Vault 7.0, due out later this year.
More info on Vault 7.0 here:
