Greetings,
I'm currently using a single user license under Vault 4.1.3 - yes, I know that this is old. I've hired another employee and we're going to need to move to paid licensed version 5.1.1 and this raises a few questions in my mind that I'd like to get confirmation on:
Server spec:
- W2K3 Server (SBS), 32 bit
- SQL 2000
I'm assuming that this old configuration is still good based upon the current documentation.
Would a version jump from 4.1.3 to 5.1.1. require a complete un-installation and then re-install, or can we simply just run the new installer and the upgrade occur? (after backing up the SQL Server of course).
Anything we should know before we do this?

Re: Moving to New Version - Couple of Questions
Vault 4.1.3 and Vault 5.1.1 are not that many versions apart. You mat be able to install the new version over the old one with no problems -- after backing up your databases first.
If there's a problem, you can restore the 4.1.3 databases and upgrade in smaller increments.
You might want to review the release notes so you can see what's changed between 4.1.3 and 5.1.1:
