Installation Woes

Post by tomj » Tue Aug 02, 2011 1:39 pm

I have installed the 32bit Vault Server version, enabled IIS to run 32 bit applications however I cannot seem to get past the dreaded "Please verify that IIS APPPOOL\VaultAppPool has Full Control of the directory." when attempting to setup handoff.

The sourcesafe folder containing the srcsafe.ini has full control rights granted to authenticated users, network service, administrators, users and IIS_WPG.

Operating System Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
SourceGear Vault Standard Version 5.1.1.19215 32 bit
Source Safe Version 8.0.50727.1551 (all latested services packs).

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to see a screenshot of your Handoff setup screen, with information filled in, along with the error message.

If you don't want to post it here, Send the info to support at sourcegear.com, Attn: Linda. Please include a link to this forum post.

The Handoff asks for the path to the srcsafe.ini file, but it's not clear that the path needs to include the srcsafe.ini file. For instance,

Code: Select all

C:\SourceSafe Database\srcsafe.ini
Once the user had the complete path, he no longer got an error message.
