Hi I am evaluating vault as a VSS replacement and have downloaded the standard version and am trying it in single user mode.
The server is setup fine on Windows 2003 server, and 1 client has been installed ok on a Windows 7 x 64 machine. These are working fine.
I then tried installing the client on a Windows XP Pro VM. The installation went fine, but any attempt to use Vault either standalone or via the IDE plugins results in crashes.
I have attached screenshots of the event message etc.
I have checked and can find no log files, so I guess it is crashing before these are created?

Re: Vault UI crash XP VM
Are there any programs on the Windows XP machine that are not on the Windows 7 machine?
When things like this happen, it can often be tied to some change to the .NET framework. You might try a repair install of the 2.0 .Net framework from inside the Add/Remove Programs. Make sure all programs are closed when you try that.
Would it be possible for you to turn off anti-virus and firewall on the XP VM to see if those are contributing to the issue?
