Hi we have a bloaked Source Safe Database that should have been broken apart into many smaller databases probably about 5 years ago, The database is 10 Years old and is 8.3 GB in Size.
EDIT: We have numerous Shares across almost all the root projects, but most of the shared files are only shared between 10 and 25 times. One of our projects has 206 Labels. Few have less the 70 labels. One of our newest has only 5 Labels.
When we run Source Safe Analyze we get a good number of errors. We have corruption on a number of directories to the point where the labels no longer work and some of them we can no longer label or get the latest version on. At this point we are counting some of these as a lost cause, but the bulk of the current data is at least usable.
Is this import even remotely possible?
Should we try and break the database into a lot of archived smaller databases?
If there are still errors in the archived databases will the Import tool likely hang and fail to import or will we get as much data as is available in Source Safe?
We are still trying to decide if this product will work for us. We have a about 35 users on the current database.
Any help with be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
john
