Duplicate submit clicks in web interface

In Vault Professional 5.1.1.

In the web interface, when I click a button (for example when adding a new Item to a Project and clicking the "Submit" button) there isn't any feedback to let me know the button was clicked and an action is being performed.

So, when the request takes more than a few seconds I'm always wondering if I clicked correctly the button and sometimes I click it again resulting in duplicate comments, duplicate Items, etc.

The buttons should be disabled while the action is being performed to avoid duplicate clicks and there should be some feedback, maybe a "Sending..." animation or at least changing the button image when the mouse button is down/up.
