Error message in log - Failed to bubble folder name?

Post by tjruska » Fri Dec 11, 2009 8:16 am

We have begun seeing this error on our production Vault server and it was causing numerous developers issues. I did an iisreset and things cleared up. I am trying to understand the cause/nature of this error as I have never seen this before. Is it an artifact of network connectivity, SQL issue, Vault?

It's generally an inconsistency in the Vault server cache. Sometimes it can indicate an inconsistency in the database. Let us know if you continue to experience this.

Since the iisreset seemed to resolve the issue I think there was some sort of Vault inconsistency rather then a database inconsistency :)

One of my user also complaint about the same thing. I found this post. Did an iisreset & things are back to normal.
Any advise how to avoid this?

Sometimes the network issues, cache issues, or data inconsistencies can cause bubble folder errors. I don't really know of a way to prevent it, but usually an iisreset puts things right.

If you continue to get this error after an iisreset, contact Technical Support and we'll do further troubleshooting.

In this case, it was caused by a new user - who perform many deletion, check in, check out on large amount of files. I don't expect it to happen frequently. Doing an iisreset is OK.
