Connection error - server does not support protocol

Post by Manisha » Wed Mar 30, 2011 12:53 pm

Hi,
I am trying to connect to Vault server 4.1.4.18402 via vault client 5.x and it gives me error -server does not support protocol.
I then re-installed the client - 4.1.4 and it works fine.
How do I connect to the server using client 5.x ?
Thanks,
Manisha

Vault does not allow the mixing and matching of versions. You can't connect a 5.x client to a 4.x server and vice versa. If you wish to test Vault 5.1.1, try connecting to our demo server.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
But if I have to connect to two different versions of servers from visual studio ide, how do I do that?

Can I have two different client versions on the same desktop?
Thanks,
Manisha

You can have two different clients on the same machine, but only one gets to have the registry keys with Visual Studio. The last one installed integrates with Visual Studio. Some users use a registry switcher to maintain two sets of registry values as the way to switch between providers.
