Multiple Admin Users

Post by buckey » Thu Mar 24, 2011 12:29 pm

Is there any way to setup multiple admin users, so that each repository can have its own admin account for managing users, un-doing checkouts, etc?

Yes there is.

1) In the Vault admin web page, expand the repositories on the left. Starting with one repository, expand it and click on Groups. Create a group.
2) While you are creating the group, you can add the people you want to have the same rights as this group.
3) Click on Repository Access and give the new group admin level access.

If you don't want to deal with groups, then in the Repository Access area, you can just edit one person to have the access rights of Full Admin.

I did this, and when the person who I added to this group logged in it to the Admin web tool, it said "You are not an administrator.". Does this change take awhile to propogate?

It should be instantaneous.

I attached a document with step-by-step instructions. There's more than one example in that document, and the one you want is the last one.
