Hi
we have a problem with SOS 3.5.3 and VSS 6.0d.
We have updated our VSS 6.0c to 6.0d, now the SOS Server works 2 hours normal and after that the server lose all the user keys(the list in the sos server manager is empty) and need a restart to read the user keys again.
We have enabled the Debugging output and the VSS DLL synchronization.
But we got no additional information about the error.
There comes not a special error message when the server lose the user keys the log file only writes after that "connection established".
I have attached the logfile
thx
Rainer
ps: we changed the registry entry from the posting

We've had scattered reports of disappearing server keys and frankly, we don't know what causes this. We haven't been able to reproduce it in-house.
Was SOS working properly when 6.0c was installed on the SOS Server machine? If so, was there a particular reason you upgraded to SOS 6.0d on the SOS Server machine?
There are a couple of versions of VSS 6.0d. Could you check the version of the ssapi.dll file for the VSS client installed on the SOS Server machine?
See this KB article for details:

I would suggest you disable VSS DLL synchronization unless you think it's helping. It's not as useful with the newer versions of VSS.

Hi
thanks you for the fast response, the version of the ssapi.dll ends with 98.48.
Yes, we had no problems with SOS with the VSS 6.0c version, but we had a few problems with repairing the databases.
Normally we have disabled the VSS DLL synchronization, we only enabled it because we have this problem.
